Unexpected Outage – Logon System

Update: 1:54- The issue with the logon system has been resolved as of 1:30. Please let us know if you continue to experience issues with this service.

We are aware of an issue with the logon system for some UCCS services.

IMPACT:

When trying to login to the affected services, the username and password fields are missing. The affected services include, but are not limited to:

  • Office 365
  • Canvas
  • Mountain Lion Connect

We have no workaround at this time, but we will update campus when we have more information.

Portal Maintenance Saturday (12/2/17) 6:00am – 6:00PM

This Saturday (12/2/2017) between 6:00 am – 6:00 pm, there will be multiple portal services unavailable while University Information Systems (UIS) is performing maintenance on several systems. Below is a brief summary of the maintenance schedule.

The following portals will be unavailable on December 2nd between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm:

  • CU Careers- Recruiting
  • HCM

The following links within the portal will also be unavailable during the maintenance window:

 All tiles

  • Benefits and Wellness tab
  • Business Tools tab – CU Careers- Recruiting, Finance, HCM, and Voluntary Fiscal Assessment
  • My Info and Pay tab

Note: A limited CU Resources portal page will be made available to allow access to unaffected applications. Please note that the limited portal page will look different to the standard portal page with tiles.

UCCS and Portal resources that will remain available during the outage include the following:

WebEx Maintenance

Cisco will be applying updates to WebEx from 8:00 PM on Friday, December 1, 2017, until 12:59 AM on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Once the update is complete, users will be prompted to install an updated meeting application and productivity tools.

IMPACT: WebEx services including Meeting Center, Training Center, Event Center, and Support Center may be unavailable or experience interruptions during the maintenance window.

UCCS Directory Changes

In an effort to reduce spam and phishing on campus, we will be making a change to the online UCCS directory (search.uccs.edu) on Tuesday November 28th, 2017.

When searching the online directory for people while off campus (not connected to UCCS-Wireless, wired UCCS networks, or VPN), you may be prompted to complete a “Captcha” before seeing results. Users connected to a UCCS network will not be impacted by this change when searching the online directory.

Changes to UCCS Account Recovery Tomorrow Morning (11/15/17)

We are happy to announce a new Account Recovery System. This new system will allow for a simpler password update procedure as well as a more streamlined “forgot my password” process.

There are several changes that we would like to make you aware of:

  • Starting tomorrow morning, November 15th, you will be prompted for account recovery options when you log into the Outlook Web Application, Office 365 Online, Canvas, and select web applications. The system will require you to provide an alternative email address, phone number, or both as an extra recovery option. This information will only be used to help you update, reset, or recover a lost password.
    • You will not be prompted again for this information for 365 days if you provide the requested information.
    • If you do not provide the requested information, you will be prompted for this information every time you sign in until the information is provided.

  • All password updates, resets, and lost password recovery links will continue to be located on our Account Recovery Page. This page can be located by browsing to https://www.uccs.edu, clicking on “Log In”, then selecting “Account Help”.

Part of this project is to re-brand the login page that is used for the Outlook Web App, Office 365, Canvas, and many other web applications. The new page will now show a more familiar landmark on campus, the El Pomar Center Clock Tower.

This weekend (6 pm Saturday, Nov. 18 – 6 pm Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017) all portal services will be unavailable while University Information Systems (UIS) is performing maintenance on several systems. Below is a brief summary of the maintenance schedule.

Update: Unexpected Service Outage: myUCCS Portal

Update:

UIS has informed us that the myUCCS Portal service has been restored. Please log into the Portal and let us know if you continue to experience any issues with this service.


 

We are aware of an issue with the myUCCS portal.

IMPACT:

Users are unable to access the myUCCS login page.

WORKAROUND:
There is no known workaround at this time.

University Information Systems (UIS) is aware of the issue and are working to determine the root cause of the issue. We will update the campus as more information becomes available.

NOTE:

UCCS specific resources such as BlackBoard, Canvas, UCCS Email, VPN, and computer labs are still available.
