Service Interruption: myUCCS Portal

Update 9:27AM- We have been informed by UIS that this issue should be resolved. Please attempt to log into your myUCCS portal and let us know if you continue to experience issues with this service.


We are aware of an issue with the myUCCS Portal.

IMPACT:

After logging into the myUCCS Portal, users may experience the following error “No Default Homepage Found”.

WORKAROUND:

We have no workaround at this time.

University Information Systems (UIS) is aware of this issue and working towards a resolution. We will provide an update when we have more information.

Multifactor Authentication Activation on February 15th at 9:30AM

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is excited to deliver a new technology to help protect Students, Faculty, and Staff from Email attacks.

What’s happening:

All Faculty and Staff will have Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) turned on for their accounts on February 15th at 9:30AM. MFA will provide an additional layer of security by requiring a second authentication method such as a text or phone call. Following the initial verification, you may be prompted when MFA identifies a high-risk activity such as: a new device, unfamiliar IP address, impossible travel, or compromised credentials. When is this happening:

Starting next Thursday, 2/15/2018 at 9:30AM we will be activating the service for you.

Why is this happening:

Email attacks are becoming more prevalent and disruptive to UCCS. As result, OIT is implementing MFA which will work to help protect users from unauthorized access using compromised credentials.

What you need to do:

You don’t have to do anything to turn on the service as MFA works in the Cloud to protect your account, but you will have to register your security authentication methods when prompted.

myUCCS Portal Login Page Update

We are happy to announce a new login page for the myUCCS Portal.

Starting February 8th, the login page for the myUCCS Portal will look similar to many other UCCS login pages, including:

  • Outlook Web Application
  • Office 365 Online
  • Canvas
  • UCCS Parking Portal
  • WebEx
  • OrgSync
  • Starfish

Below is an example of what the login page will look like when browsing to the myUCCS Portal on February 8th.

Portal Maintenance Sunday (2/11/2018) 6:00am – 12:00 pm (noon)

This coming Sunday (2/11/2018) between 6:00 am – 12:00 pm (noon) many Portal services will be unavailable while University Information Systems (UIS) is performing maintenance on several systems. Below is a brief summary of the maintenance schedule.

Many Portal services including, but not limited to the following will be unavailable on February 11th between the hours of 6:00 am and 12:00 pm (noon):

  • Student, Employee and Faculty Portals (My.uccs.edu)
  • Campus Solutions
  • HR and Finance Systems
  • CU Careers- Recruiting

All UCCS and many UIS resources will remain available during the outage. These resources include the following:

  • Blackboard and Canvas
  • UCCS Email
  • VPN
  • Computer Labs
  • UCCS-Wireless, UCCS-Guest, and wired networks
  • CU Careers- Search/Apply
  • CU Data
  • CU Marketplace
  • OnBase
  • SkillSoft and Lynda.com

Update: Service Interruption: Self Service Password Change

Update: This issue should be resolved at this time. If you were experiencing issues changing your password earlier, please attempt to change your password now.


Please let us know if you continue to experience issues with this service.

We are aware of an issue with the Self Service Password Reset System.

IMPACT:

Users are currently unable to change their passwords while connected to an off campus network (e.g. Comcast, CenturyLink, AT&T, Verizon, etc).

WORKAROUND:

Please connect to the UCCS VPN or a UCCS network (UCCS-Wireless or a wired UCCS network) to change your password.
