Extended-Internet Link Maintenance Saturday and Sunday

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDoT) will be performing maintenance on our primary Internet link on Saturday (9/19/2015) and Sunday (9/20/2015). Maintenance will begin at 8:30am Saturday and is expected to end Sunday afternoon. During this time we will be working on our backup link.

Our current backup link is roughly 1/10th the bandwidth we typically use. While we are anticipating increasing the backup bandwidth to match our primary link, the completion date for the upgrade is several weeks out. Pl ease limit streaming of music and video and do not use internet bandwidth tests during this outage. These services consume large amounts of data and significantly impact bandwidth.

Update:

The primary Internet link maintenance scheduled for this past weekend is still in effect. We have contacted CDoT (Colorado Department of Transportation) with a request for more information and will update the campus as we learn more.

Upgrade Completed – Exchange Upgrade Sunday (9-13-2015)

This Sunday (9-13-2015) between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm we will be implementing an Exchange upgrade. During this time, email will not be available for faculty and staff. Email sent to your email address will wait in a queue and then be delivered as the server becomes available again. Since the upgrade contains many steps, it is likely that the server may appear available several times during the upgrade window. It is recommended that you do not perform any critical work with your email until after 5:00pm as progress may be lost if the server becomes unavailable again.

 

Update: The upgrade for Faculty and Staff email has been completed. You will notice a new login screen when logging into email via the Outlook Web App (OWA). The log in screen now has a blue and white color scheme instead of the UCCS branded page you are used to. We will be working to change this log in screen to better reflect UCCS branding and will notify you when the change takes place. Portal Maintenance Sunday (9-13-2015) from 6:00am to 2:00pm

This Sunday (9-13-2015), from 6:00 am to 2:00pm, there will be multiple portal services unavailable while University Information Systems (UIS) is performing maintenance on several systems. Below is a brief summary of the maintenance schedule.

All portals including, but not limited to the following will be unavailable on September 13th between the hours of 6:00am and 2:00pm:

  • Student, Employee and Faculty Portals (My.uccs.edu)
  • Campus Solutions
  • HR and Finance Systems
  • DARS
  • Singularity (Document Management)
  • Cognos
  • Concur
  • CU Marketplace
  • Skillsoft

UCCS specific resources will remain available during the outage. These resources include the following:

  • Blackboard
  • Student Email
  • Staff and Faculty Email
  • Library
  • VPN
  • Computer Labs

Faculty and Staff Email Currently Unavailable

We are aware of an issue affecting our faculty and staff email service. We are currently working on finding a solution and will update campus as we gather more information.

 

Update: We have determined the root cause of the problem and access to email has been restored. You may need to restart Outlook in order to reconnect.
