Portal Maintenance Sunday (8-2-2015) from 6:00am to 10:00am

This Sunday (8-2-2015), from 6:00 am to 10:00am, there will be multiple portal services unavailable while University Information Systems (UIS) is performing maintenance on several systems. Below is a brief summary of the maintenance schedule.

All portals including, but not limited to the following will be unavailable on June 7th between the hours of 6:00am and 10:00am:

  • Student, Employee and Faculty Portals (
  • Campus Solutions
  • HR and Finance Systems
  • DARS
  • Singularity (Document Management)
  • Cognos
  • Concur
  • CU Marketplace
  • Skillsoft


UCCS specific resources will remain available during the outage. These resources include the following:

  • Blackboard
  • Student Email
  • Staff and Faculty Email
  • Library
  • VPN
  • Computer Labs

Windows 10

We understand that many of our faculty and staff are interested in moving to Windows 10. At this time, the IT Department is fine tuning our Windows 10 installation to ensure that there are minimal issues while moving to the new system. Once we feel that the image is stable, we will begin releasing the option to upgrade the computers across campus.


Please note that this email is only referring to the faculty and staff computers for office use. Our lab machines require a different set of testing and will require more communication with our faculty prior to release.

Possible Email Issue

On Thursday several people fell for a phishing scam delivered through an email message. The attackers used those compromised accounts to send out hundreds of thousands of spam messages from our email servers.  As a result of this, other institutions, organizations, and companies have blocked our email communications temporarily.  We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible, however it may take several days for our email to flow normally.

It is important to remember that UCCS IT will NEVER ask for your UCCS credentials in an email message.  Make sure you follow safe browsing practices and only enter your UCCS credentials on legitimate CU and UCCS websites.  You can find more information on how to identify legitimate CU and UCCS websites at the follow webpage:

Network Resource Outage Resolved

We experienced an outage today (7/21/2015) that caused network resources, such as network drives, to become unavailable. We have discovered the root cause of the issue and applied the necessary fixes to restore these services. If you are still having issues in regards to this outage, please contact us at 719-255-3536.

Internet Link Maintenance Tuesday (7/21/2015)

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDoT) will be performing maintenance on our primary Internet link on Tuesday (7/21/2015). Maintenance will begin at 9:00am and is expected to be completed by 4:00pm. During this time we will be working on our backup link.

Please limit streaming of music and video and do not use internet bandwidth tests during this outage.  These services consume large amounts of data and significantly impact bandwidth.

We will update the campus with any additional information as it becomes available.

Portal Maintenance Sunday 7/19/2015

On Sunday (7/19/2015), between the hours of 7:00am and 9:00am, the myUCCSPortal will be undergoing maintenance. During this time, users may experience small windows of time (5 to 10 minutes) where they are unable to log in. If you experience issues logging into the portal during this maintenance window, please wait 5 minutes and try again.

Search and Phone Directory experiencing issues

We are currently experiencing an issue with our search and phone directory services on . Users may find that they receive a “Service Temporarily Unavailable” error, or an unformatted page, when trying to search our website. We are working on the problem and will update as we determine the root cause.



Searching and Phone Directory services are now working as expected.
