Subject: CU Alert – Enterprise Application Service Interruption

 

CU Alert: All Enterprise Applications are experiencing slowness.

 

Current symptoms includes:

 

– Users may experience intermittent slowness in Campus Solutions, HR, FIN, Cognos, eRA, DARS, OAO, Portal, CRM and CU Marketplace.

 

Known workarounds include:

 

– There are no workarounds at this time.

 

UIS is working to restore service to normal performance levels and will provide more information as it becomes available.  The next communication will be sent by 11:10 a.m.

On Wednesday, June 4th our Telecom team will be performing maintenance on the systems running all campus phones.

 

Maintenance will begin at 7:30 pm and will last until 10:00 pm. During this time phones across campus will be intermittently unavailable, phones may have no dial tone and existing phone calls may be disconnected. If you have an event or need for extended phone use during this time please let us know as soon as possible.

Blackboard maintenance on Saturday, May 24

Blackboard may be periodically unavailable for the entire day of May 24th.

Though Blackboard may periodically be available, we would not advise that you do any important work on Blackboard until the day’s end.

 

Problem impacting some Windows 7 computers on campus

Over the last two days we have received multiple reports of Windows looking very different at login or not being able to login at all. At this point it has only impacted computers running Windows 7. Some of the symptoms include the following:

  • Missing desktop or taskbar icons
  • Outlook wanting to create a new profile or acting like you have never used it
  • Unable to access documents on computer or network drives such has Columbia or Enterprise
  • An error referring to “group policy failed to load” at login

 

If your computer is experiencing any of these issues or just doesn’t seem right to you, please call us! We can restore your computer it is normal working state.

This evening (5/19/14) the IT department will be performing maintenance on the Pro and Webworks servers from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.   These servers handle the following services and websites:

  • IT Username Assistance page https://accounts.uccs.edu
  • e2campus Emergency Notification system – Registrations and account changes only.  The UCCS community will still receive text messages in the event of an emergency.
  • SSL websites with forms
  • Faculty and Staff Email list – You will not be able to send email to faculty-l or staff-l during this outage.
  • Institutional Research – https://irsurvey.uccs.edu/
  • UCCS on iTunes U log in
  • Online payment system for UCCS parking tickets
  • Pawprints – Users will be able to print, but they will not be able to add money to their account.
  • Academic ethics code violation reporting site
  • Scholarly Report Database
  • Student Employment Assistance Network (SEAN’s Place)
  • Volunteer Information Network and Community Exchange (VINCE)

During this time the above  listed sites and services will be unavailable.  Please contact the Help Desk if you have any questions or concerns.

We will be updating the software image and applications on the IT Lab computers for the upcoming summer 2014 semester. This impacts all computers in IT-managed open labs, computerized classrooms, and instructor podiums.

 

Please take a moment to review the below lists of currently offered software. Let us know if any of the software listed for your department is obsolete, longer needed or requires specific updates/changes.

If you don’t’ see your software listed, you are encouraged to submit a request for new software in the IT Labs. To do so, please visit our Self-Service portal at https://ithelp.uccs.edu/CherwellPortal. Under the Computer Labs section click on the “Computer Lab Software Request” link and complete the form.
